In India, over 1.5 lakh people lose their lives and more than 4.5 lakh are injured in road accidents every year. This not only causes trauma to the families but accidental deaths also result in an economic loss equivalent to a massive 3.14 percent of GDP each year.

According to the latest report by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, 11,168 Children lost their lives in road crashes in 2019, which is an increase of 11.94% over the previous year. The 11,168 child fatalities translates to a shocking 31 deaths a day, and is nearly 8% of the total road crash deaths in India.
