WHEN IS CONSTITUTION DAY OF INDIA
Constitution Day 2020: History of the day, quotes & greetings
It is also the day when the nation remembers BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution.
Constitution day or Samvidahan Diwas is celebrated on November 26 every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
The Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India on 26 November 1949 and it was legally enforced on January 26, 1950. Almost 65 years later, the government of India declared 26 November as Constitution Day on 19 November 2015 by a gazette notification.
Before its completion on 26th November 1949, the Constitution underwent more than 2,000 amendments and came into being after meetings that were held for 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days. Artists from Shantiniketan decorated every page of the Indian Constitution and the original copies were written in Hindi and English.
It is also the day when the nation remembers BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution.
The Preamble of to the Indian Constitution reads: “WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens: JUSTICE, social, economic and political; LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation; IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION”
Quotes by BR Ambedkar
Law and order are the medicine of the body politic and when the body politic gets sick, medicine must be administered.
Democracy is not merely a form of government. It is primarily a mode of associated living, of conjoint communicated experience. It is essentially an attitude of respect and reverence towards fellow men.
"However good a constitution may be, if those who are implementing it are not good, it will prove to be bad. However bad a constitution may be, if those implementing it are good, it will prove to be good"
"So long as you do not achieve social liberty, whatever freedom is provided by the law is of no avail to you"
Greetings & Messages
Freedom in mind, faith in words. Pride in our hearts and memories in our souls. Let’s salute the nation on Constitution Day 2020
Let every teacher teach the student how to love this nation, let every parent instill in his or her sons and daughters the beauty of our nation. Happy Constitution Day!
Justice, liberty, equality, fraternity. May our dream of a new tomorrow come true for us.
The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems! Happy Constitution Day.

Constitution Day 2020: History, significance of Samvidhan Divas
It is also a mark of tribute to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar who played an important role in the framing of the Indian Constitution.
India will be celebrating Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas on Thursday (November 26).
Constitution Day is celebrated in India on November 26 every year. On this day, back in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on January 26, 1950.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 19th November 2015 notified the decision of the Government of India to celebrate the 26th day of November every year as 'Constitution Day' to promote Constitution values among citizens.
It is also a mark of tribute to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the first law minister of India, who played an important role in the framing of the Indian Constitution.
Here are certain important facts that we need to know about the Constitution:
1. The Constitution of India was drafted between December 1946 and December 1949 – the most challenging period. This was the time when religious riots, caste wars, and entrenched gender inequality were threatening the social fabric of the country.
2. Constitution of India lays down the framework defining fundamental political principles, establishes the structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles and the duties of citizens.
3. It was drafted by the Constituent Assembly, which was elected by the elected members of the provincial assemblies. The 389 member Constituent Assembly took two years, eleven months and seventeen days to complete its historic task of drafting the Constitution for Independent India. During this period, it held eleven sessions covering a total of 165 days. Of these, 114 days were spent on the consideration of the Draft Constitution. On August 29, 1947, the Constituent Assembly set up a Drafting Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. B R Ambedkar to prepare a Draft Constitution for India.
4. It was neither printed or typed. It was handwritten and calligraphed in both Hindi and English.
5. Since the Indian Constitution came into the act, the females in India got the right to vote.
6. It is also known as 'bag of borrowings' as it has borrowed several ideas from other countries.

THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF READING
I’m an avid reader and I always have been. So when someone says to me, with a vaguely superior air (and this happens surprisingly often): “Oh, I don’t read fiction. I don’t have time for that. I’m too busy; I have more important things to do…”, well, this is how I feel:
READING REDUCES STRESS.
READING IMPROVES BRAIN FUNCTION.
READING KEEPS YOUR BRAIN YOUNG.
READING IMPROVES YOUR SOCIAL SKILLS & EMPATHY.
