National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2021 exam is conducted for undergraduate admissions to medical and dental courses across the country. National Testing Agency, NTA would release the online application form on ntaneet.nic.in to begin the registration process. The exam, usually conducted in May or June was postponed due to the pandemic and is scheduled for August 1, 2021. As per the official notification, NEET 2021 exam is scheduled for August 1, 2021. There is no update regarding any change in the schedule as of now.
There is no official notice regarding postponement of NEET 2021. NTA, in its official notification dated March 12, 2021 has announced that NEET 2021 would be conducted on August 1, 2021. Pursuant to the announcement, there have been many developments which include lockdowns and cancellation of board exams across the country. While experts are hinting that there is a high probability that the exam would be cancelled, there is no indication of it otherwise.
Students would require a scanned copy of their photo as well as a scanned copy of their signature to register for NEET 2021 examination. Documentary proof of date of birth, educational qualification is required only at the time of admission to various medical colleges. Students, however, would be required to provide personal information including board of qualification, aadhar card number, etc. to register along with a valid mobile number and email id.
NEET 2021 syllabus includes NCERT prescribed syllabus for Classes 11 and 12 for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. There has been no change in the NEET 2021 syllabus. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, however, had shared that NEET 2021 exam pattern would be modified to include choices. These choices would in turn accommodate the revised syllabus.
NEET 2021 would be conducted in 11 languages. This includes English, Hindi and Urdu as well as 8 regional languages of Assamese, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Odia. The options for the regional languages, however, are available only in the specific states. For example, Marathi as a medium of instruction is only available for exam centres located in Maharashtra.
NEET 2021 would be a pen and paper based examination. No, the examination would not be conducted in online mode.
