Kendriya Vidyalaya Partners Online Platform Player Mappr

Mappr, an online platform that establishes a learning community in a secure environment has partnered with  Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan runs 1,094 schools named Kendriya Vidyalayas and is the largest chain of schools in the world with a total of 1,209,138 students and 56,445 employees on the rolls. Mappr seamlessly connects academic institutions, teachers, parents and students with each other.
Cloud based ed-tech Company, Mappr is an education learning platform that stimulates peer-to-peer education by bringing hesitant learners in the forefront. It enables personalised attention without increasing the teacher’s work-load, ensures proactive parental engagement and focuses on multi-dimensional development of the student.
“Mappr stimulates peer-to-peer learning to bring hesitant learners mainstream and enables personalized attention. It also ensures parental engagement and focuses on multi dimensional development of the student,” said Suraj Prashad, assistant education officer.
“Mappr will help KVS reach, align, and engage teachers, students, and parents from all our schools on one secure network,” said additional commissioner of KVS Varanasi region.
Last September Mappr was acquired by Dheeraj Jain of Redcliffe Capital together with Ashwani Duggal (veteran in ed-tech sector and CEO of Mappr) and further investments from Varun Khanna (global education strategist) and Kay Bhagavatheeswaran (ex-NIIT). Post the acquisition, Mappr went through tremendous technology development phase and now it’s a market leading social learning platform accessible on both desktop and mobile app.
“India is known as the IT back-office of the world, yet 99 percent of 250 million students do not have access to social learning platforms available to students from countries like the US, UK, Japan and even many South East Asian countries. This is also a prime example of government institute trusting a startup vs incumbents like Google and Microsoft for such a humongous implementation,” said Dheeraj Jain, co-founder, Mappr.
Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS) is currently piloting Mappr within 5 large regions while reaching out to more than 5 lakh users including students, teachers and parents. Since Mappr is cloud based, students who cannot afford a personal computer can use it from their parents’ mobile with internet connectivity.
Apart from KVS, Mappr is currently used by over 200,000 users from over 60+ educational institutions. With current pipeline and heavy traction, Mappr expects 1 million students by September 2016. Mappr is commercialized only to private schools, colleges and coaching institutes both via B2B and B2C models.
