Government school gets a library

MYSURU: Kalisu Foundation, an NGO that works to improve quality of education in government schools, on Thursday installed a new libraryin Kalyanagiri Government Urdu Higher Primary School, in association with oil manufacture company Sunpure.


Speaking after its inauguration, Kalisu volunteer Abida, told TOI, "We set up libraries in government higher primary schools and also take up teaching assignments as volunteers. We introduce new methods of teaching and give individual care to students."


Meanwhile, Mannan Khan, industrialist, who was part of the library project, expressed interest in joining hands with the NGO to provide better education facilities to students in the backward areas like Kalyangiri and Udaygiri.


Mushrad Tabussum, a class VI student at the school, could not hide his happiness over seeing the colourful books in the new library. "I like to read story books and I find many good books with morals in the library," he said. tnn
